Hot Water Heater leaking water from pressure release valve?
I had a "professional" company send out a plumber a year or two ago because my hot water heater was letting water out of the pressure release value. They added an expansion tank and changed the valve. All fixed…
Cut to this weekend, the tank is leaking again after every shower (when it needs to heat up water). Another plumber came out and changed the value again, did nothing. It is still leaking after showers. He mentioned the expansion tank is installed on the hot water out pipe instead of the cold water in pipe. For him to come out again and fix it it will cost me $200 (plus the $100 I already paid him to change the valve yesterday).
So, this is probably way out of warranty for the company that installed it, but does that apply when it was installed incorrectly?
Also, why did it take so long to fail again on the wrong pipe?
Do I have any case to call the original company back after all this time to fix their mistake?
Some good answers so far… the Expansion tank is on the wrong pipe so I don’t know if adjusting it will help. I hope it is not that overflow issue as that sounds $$$$! Hopefully putting the expansion tank on the right pipe will fix the problem.
I would call the original company and ask them to come out and look at this and tell them that you were told that it was installed incorrectly. Ask them if this is the problem and then tell them your water heater is doing the same thing.
If they are good business people they will repair it if it was installed wrong and take care of your problem.
They do not want bad publicity anyway and if it was wrong they should fix it.
Tel them you need it repaired or you will contact the better business bureau if not repaired right if it was installed wrong.
Warranty has nothing to do with an improper installation.

Yes, it should have been installed on the cold water side since that system has a lower pressure than the pressure caused from the heat in the system. If it installed incorrectly, call your city code enforcement and have them come and inspect it. Have them write the report and submit it back to the original installation company for them to correct. Any time you have a question pertaining to if it is installed right, you can call a plumbing inspector for your city and they can give you details. Make sure its all by code, because alot of times once you sign the bill, you are accepting the work as done and that you are satisfied which releases the contractor from liability.

Inside the water heater there is a float that stops the tank from over filling.
The float is bad or dirty allowing the tank to overfill. The rising water is supposed to push the float up stopping the flow of water filling it. It has a mineral build up from the water weighing it down so it does not float as high as it should.
It may cost more to fix than it is worth. They may have to open up the sealed tank.
The service tech should have known this. Changing the valve is just to placate you while ignoring that it is not the problem.
The company should discount a new water heater if necessary for the second botched service call.

Do you think this is fair at all?
If this seems long, I would like to apologize beforehand. However this situation has really been eating at me for a couple of days, and I don’t know what else to do.
My husband and I moved to PA almost a year ago for many different reasons, but the main one was that we got evicted from our last home, and had a MAJOR falling out with his parents (a completely different story). I’m from PA, and for a short time my mother (bless her heart) took us in for a short time until we could get jobs, and on our feet. We also have two daughters that mean ‘the world’ tomy in-laws, and the transition was beyond difficult for everybody.
My daughters communicate with them almost on a daily basis via online chat with webcam, or over he phone which I have absolutely no problem with that. About a week ago, my eldest Melody came to me just gushing with excitement because my in-laws are wanting to take an almost 12 hour drive from IA to come pick her up, and let her spend about a month with them over the summer. Melody politely asked me if that was ok, and I told her I would talk to her father about it.
He thought it was a great idea, but then he asked if they would be taking Peyton, my youngest daughter, as well. I never gave that a thought but he agreed that having Melody going was fine just as long as they would like to take Peyton also. So two nights ago, I talk to my MIL and started making arrangments and asking her when they would be coming. And when I asked the question if they were going to take Peyton along, there was a long pause….She had the NERVE to say, "Well we don’t have enough room in this house for her to stay for a month, plus she has a ‘history’ of causing problems". Thank God the girls were nearby because I was just about to go completely ballistic on this woman. I don’t get into confrontations with my girls around for the most obvious reasons, but I can say that comment hurt so bad it felt like I was slapped in the face.
Peyton was diagnosed with autism, ODD (oppressive-defiant disorder), and ADHD. Before she was diagnosed, she was completely out of control. She completely destructive with everything. We would get her a new toy and it would be broken the next day. She wouldn’t do simple commands, she would pick fights with her cousins, and other things it was just really bad. My husband and I went to see a therapist to see if it would help, but it didn’t. The last resort was to put her on medication…which seemed to work for awhile. But then all of a sudden the medication seemed to quit working for her, and she was worse than before. This was about the time when we got evicted from our home, and had that falling-out. The attempts to help Peyton even more seemed to be fruitless because I don’t think the specialist was doing a really good job.
The move was hard on everybody, but it hit Peyton the hardest. Any major change or transition in the past was very difficult for her to deal with…this has to do with the autism and other disorders. Shortly after our family settled in, we sought out and found a really AWESOME specialist to help Peyton. Ever since she began seeing this specialist, I’d like to think that Peyton is a completely different little girl. She was put on Adderal that seems to be working very well with her. Her destructive behavior seems almost non-existant anymore, she really likes to take care of her things, she shows wonderful affection towards my husband, myself, and her sister, and she’s at the top of her Kindergarten class. Plus Peyton LOVES her specialist. Everything that was going on with her before seems to have all but gone away. Granted she has her days and moods as well as many of us do, but she’s just a completely different and absolutely wonderful, very intelligent little girl. As long as she continues taking her medication and she gets that therapy, she’s beginning to just blossom into a wonderful person. I know it seems like I’m bragging, but it’s the proud parent in me I guess.
Now here’s where it gets destructive. There were times when I’ve noticed how different my daughters are treated when they talk to their grandparents. Our computer is in the living room, but I try to provide privacy for their conversation. In particular I notice that when Melody is talking live with the webcam, how my MIL reactions are. When Melody has some good news to share, my MIL seems to gush with excitement. Peyton likes to join in with her sister, and sometimes she wants to say something. How my MIL reacts with her, it seems like she’s saying, "Yeah sure, whatever", or she seems indifferent. That observation has been eating at me for quite some time as well.
So here’s my dilemma. I don’t believe it’s the least bit fair that they would like to spend time with Melody, but want to practically have nothing to do with Peyton. They don’t actually know her from who she was from before. If my MIL would at least take the time to actually have a conversation with Peyton then maybe thin

Your MIL needs to learn that there are consequences to her actions and treating Peyton with less than contempt is NOT on. You have taught the girls equal love and attention and you are sticking by that love and attention equally for both of your girls and yes it would be destructive for just Melody to go spend time with her Grand parents and would cause confusion for peyton, I’m with you on this one , you are their Mother, their role model in life and trust me how they are treated now effects how they are when they are young women. You are right in putting your children’s emotions and minds and lives first before other family……..obviously the specialist showed Peyton consistent care and attention and that’s probably why she thrived with the treatment, so it needs to be consistent in her home life for her to be a balanced young adult down the track to eventually pass this behavior onto who ever she meets and begins to love. Be Proud of not allowing Grandparents to demand impossibilities and show favoritism and believe in all the hard work and love that has helped both your girls!!

Ok well I’ve been doing a Friends with benefits thing with my really good friend David for almost 6 months now! But he’s acting really wired lately like he doesn’t want to hang out really any more.
Then there’s my friend Marcus…we meet over summer in summer school of all places,lol. Any ways that’s when we stared liking each other. well I ended up going out with his best friend who i broke up with after he went to fast for me. And well Marcus and I just stopped talking because of his gf was telling him lies about me. Well last saturday we really stared to reconnect and well he told me he still likes me, and I admitted to him that i still liked him! Well I waited for him to get off work and of course i was talking to him and all and we were kind of goofing off, not like kissing or any thing, no he was just teasing, and tickling me. But as soon as my friend sam left cause he had to be home earlier. Well Marcus kept tickling me, and we made out! i just couldn’t believe it! I even asked him out for the 2nd time! He never gave me an answer and i know he likes my friend, he flirts with her all the time, but she’s les, and he got mad at me for telling him that.

You are way too young to stress these guys. Just be lax and a friend to them with no added drama and they will either go to what they really wanted in the first place and you’ll have your answer or they’ll commit to you. Friends with benefits often doesn’t benefit anyone. Either it is empty sex or you develop some sort of feelings for someone that doesn’t have that feeling for you. It sounds like David doesn’t like you as a girl friend and has decided to move on. Marcus sounds flighty, but if you like him, then you should try to communicate in a more clear and mature way. Say something along the lines of ‘I would like to go out with you sometime? How do you feel about that?’ If he doesn’t want to then don’t take it too seriously. I know being rejected sucks, but you will find someone that likes you that you are into, too. It just takes some searching. Also, remember- SAFE SEX!! STD’s suck!

ok the story continues on..
as the new year approaches, i kept texting her for 1 week but she never replied, on new year’s day, i texted "happy new year" but she also didn’t reply.so i just stopped texting her for 3 days and then school came…
on the first day of school of 2010, we got to talk after school and it was ok, she was her usual self except the fact that when i asked her why she wasn’t replying in the holidays, this was her answer"no, i was replying, you’re the one who’s not replying", i just felt stupid for her lying to me like that, like she didn’t care about my feelings…
so i decided to forget her and just try to move on, i didn’t talk or text her for 1 week and 2 days, apparently, my friend that also likes her(if you read the first part of the story) also decided to move on and forget her since she’s acted like nothing happened between me and her and her and my friend on the overrnight trip we had(in the first part of the story) but i realized i couldn’t forget her, i tried but i couldn’t, i deleted all of her messages,pictures and anything that reminds me of her but i still couldn’t so one night i just texted her and the very next day in school, we started talking again, we were back what we were before the overnight trip…
then one day, i found out that my friend the likes her started talking to her again so i realized we were back to what we started, a love triangle!for a week that continued, me and my friend competed for her, she would spend time with and she would spend with my friend too, she gave us equal attention..
then one day, i just noticed she started avoiding me, replying to my texts less than before, so i thought maybe she was choosing my friend over me, then on one saturday, my friend threw a party in his house and she came to the party so i got to talk to her about what happened between us in the overnight trip and she also asked me for why i suddenly stop talking to her in the first week of school, she told she was kinda mad at me the day after the trip because she felt like was taken advantage of so i told her im sorry again and she accepted it but i felt like she just wants to forget about what happen between us in the overnight trip, like she regrets it or something, she didn’t get to talk about anything else because she had to leave…
the following week, on monday, it was my b-day, we were okay that day, the next day(tuesday), i asked her if i could walk her home, she said no and my friend that likes her comes along and asked her the same question and she said ok.so i just went home devastated and i questioned my self again if should still go for her, the next day(wednesday) during lunch time, i apporached her because she was alone but she gave me the "not you again" face expression but i went on to eat lunch with her and her best friend, while eating, i was talking to her and she didn’t seem to care about what i was saying, she would look away most of the time and on that night she didn’t reply to my texts.
so today(thursday), this morning i talked to her but again she acted like she didn’t care and was kinda annoyed of me so the whole day, i was kinda feeling down and sad, after school she approached me and we talked, she told me that she told my friend that likes her to just be friends with her then i asked her "why?", she said" because he expects too much from me and i don’t think i can give back the same amount of love and attention he gives me so i think we’re better off friends" then i asked her "do you feel the same way about me?", she said "yeah", then i told her "i can wait" and she just giggled and smiled and changed the subject, then i tried to talk about the overnight trip again but again changed the subject. she also told she’s confused about stuff so i didn’t ask her out yet on valentine’s day which i was planning to ask her.so tomorrow’s friday then after that it’s our chinese new year holidays, im afraid im not gonna be able to talk to her in person again until school comes back so i got a few questions in my mind which i may need your help..
1)about how things are going between us, do you think i should still go for her?(i mean i really like her)
2)should i asked her out on valentine’s day or asked her out first on the weekend?

you should back off for a while. give her time. she’s had too much of you over the past weeks. give her some uncertainty. you’ve presented yourself already and now it’s slightly becoming pushy/needy. you can’t force her to like/love you bc - no offense - but you can’t be everyone’s type. now it’s her turn. if she won’t give a damn, move on, it would be not worth it buddy.

how to remove the front grill of a mitsubishi outlander and how to replace the stock horns?
I want to replace the stock horns for my 2006 Mitsubishi Outlander but in order to do so i have to remove the front grill. I have no problems with the electrical stuff but off course I have to be able to remove the old horns i have to access it (it is placed under the front grills). Can anyone send a step by step procedure in removing the front grill, illustrations would help a lot.

What was the song that Miyagi sings to Yukie after she asks him to twice in Karate Kid part II?

At the very beginning of the scene where Yukie and Miyagi are on their evening walk, she is heard asking him if he remembers their song. The tune Miyagi sings to her is the same one he lazily sings to himself at the very start of the ‘drunken anniversary’ scene from the original Karate Kid. Both times, Miyagi is heard singing off camera.
