Anybody seen the movie "population 436"?
Are there really towns like that?
If there is, then that’s just freaky!

Sure there are! Just watch these movies:
Vacancy
Darkness Falls
The Spring (2000)
The Lottery (1996)
Whispers and Lies
Disturbing Behavior
Children of the Corn
The Cars That Ate Paris
The Last Bride of Salem
The Stepford Wives (original only!)
The Dark Secret of Harvest Home (TV miniseries)
Nightmares and Dreamscapes: From the Stories of Stephen King, "You Know They Got a Hell of a Band"

You’ll also find them in the "Night Visions" episode "Harmony" and "Rest Stop".

On the good side, there’s the musical "Brigadoon", starring Gene Kelly and Cyd Charise. In that case, it’s an enchanted Scottish village that no one may leave~except for the outsiders who happen upon it.

These scary, out-of-the-way towns are popular in fiction. Of course, there just might be some places out there that might qualify as spooky though I’ve never encountered them in all my travels. Shirley Jackson’s short story "The Lottery" has been the main source of inspiration for Stephen King, Thomas Tryon and many other writers. H.P. Lovecraft also specializes in creepy little towns.

I don’t think there are really towns like that. I’m sure that they just made it up for the movie.

GIRLS?! So evil yet so angelic?
why do woman have such an incredible power over men? All they have to is give a cute smile and a flutter of the eyes and most of us males melt like butter. The more stronger willed males fall to a simlpe hug or whisper in the ear. As much as i admire this absolutely divine power. i find my self wondering, where is the balance, the yin in the yan so to speak? What do men have to compensate this imbalance?

You are so right, and you have done a good job of putting this invisible elixir that women possess into words. But you must realize how much they also desire things about us as well.

Women can be manipulated by their delicate egos - even the most beautiful ladies have multiple hang-ups and insecurities about themselves, believe it or not. They also crave, desire and need a constant flow of ATTENTION. By stroking and sometimes poking at their egos while alternating between granting and depriving them of attention, a man with the right level of derived confidence can tease, confuse and melt them like butter as well.

Ultimately, the great equalizer for me has been my ability to make them growl deeply and pull the fitted sheets off of the bed during sex and utter involuntary profanities, so sexual prowess does work wonders.

RR Guy | Jun 20, 2008

Lol…I love your description.
I don’t think men have the same power to be honest.
munchkin | Jun 20, 2008

wow, i didn’t know we had that much affect on men
i think the yin to the yan is that men smell really good, and are so generous(most of them)
just everything about them would make us girls fall in love
kje! | Jun 20, 2008

the gamns they play kan also b used against them, it just depends on the type of man u r. plus if u wanna get n their head ignore them a lil it kan work wonders, kuz remember wome nare attention whores

you’ve got things nailed. i’ve been told i give the "male mind control look". haha.
alexa | Jun 20, 2008

nicely said. well i think it takes a man to get to a woman a certain way and if he can and they share something… he might warm her heart like your grandmas freshly baked cookies.
npjcakes | Jun 20, 2008

you want sex and women provide it so the more you want it, the more nonsense you put up with…..it’s your weakness for life….so get ready when you grow up
Garden by M | Jun 20, 2008

Women love being wanted!! the reason that we flirt with men is to get them to want us. lol. im not exactlly sure what makes up the yin and yan between men and women but i do know that its wonderfull. lol.

Men have…broad shoulders that we women love to call home. Women melt at the embrace of a strong yet gentle man who can make her feel safe and happy in almost any circumstance

I would have to say….. Sweeney Todd, Secret Window, and I know what you did last summer.

Why?

Well, Sweeney Todd has a gripping story and the atmosphere feels eerie and weird and it is also directed by Tim Burton

Secret Window, because it offers scares and the twist is so genuine. Stephen King wrote the book.

I know what you did last summer because it is scary…..

To be honest, that is a cr*p list and I juts picked out those three because they are a little bit better than the rest. Sorry!

How the hell can i fully reset my comp when my DVD drive isn't being recognized!?
Ok. Here’s the problem.

My DVD drive just disappeared. Ive tried NUMEROUS attempts at trying to fix it. But no. It is recognized on device manager which says its "working properly" but its not seen on the control panel.
I have a boot disc that im TRYING to use to fully reset this effing thing (for some reason System Restore wont work.)..but of course when i turn the comp on with the disc inside,it doesnt get read..

How the hell can i do this? I just want it to read the disc just that once so i can sort my comp out.

I have a Packard Bell IMedia desktop with XP Home.

In five minute im going to have a bin with an very damaged Packard Bell in it, me thinks.

Thanks!

xx Sarah

If you are trying to reload your OS you do not need the operating system to recognize the drive. You BIOS will. Insert the CD then restart your computer, and press (ESC F2,F10,DEL) and get into your boot sequence, then set it to CDROM. and you are good to go. It will reboot when you exit the BIOS.

kinamyen | Feb 04, 2010

Do Alt+F10 when your comp starts up.
I just had to do that the other day on my netbook, it doesn’t have an optical drive.
Brooke | Feb 04, 2010

Hi beautiful Sarah,
Try accessing your BIOS. When your machine starts to boot, on the screen there is something like, "to access set up press del" it could be F2 or another key. Whatever key it is press that as your machine boots and then look at all the setting in there and see if your DVD is there. If it 9s make sure that you set it to first priority in boot sequence and save and exit. Re boot with your DVD in drive and it should boot to it.

Does anyone really care when some terrorist scumbag gets mistreated?
I’ll start caring when Osama bin Laden turns himself in and repents for incinerating all those innocent people on 9/11.

I’ll care about the Koran when the fanatics in the Middle East start caring about the Holy Bible, the mere belief of which is a crime punishable by beheading in Afghanistan ..

I’ll care when these thugs tell the world they are sorry for hacking off Nick Berg’s head while Berg screamed through his gurgling slashed throat.

I’ll care when the cowardly so-called ‘insurgents’ in Afghanistan come out and fight like men instead of disrespecting their own religion by hiding in mosques and behind women and children.

I’ll care when the mindless zealots who blows themselves up in search of nirvana care about the innocent children within range of their suicide bombs.

I’ll care when the Canadian media stops pretending that their freedom of speech on stories is more important than the lives of the soldiers on the ground or their families waiting at home to hear about them when something happens.

In the meantime, when I hear a story about a CANADIAN soldier roughing up an Insurgent terrorist to obtain information, know this:

I don’t care.

When I see a wounded terrorist get shot in the head when he is told not to move because he might be booby-trapped, you can take it to the
bank:

I don’t care.

When I hear that a prisoner, who was issued a Koran and a prayer mat, and ‘fed special’ food that is paid for by my tax dollars, is complaining that his holy book is being ‘mishandled,’ you can absolutely believe in your heart of hearts:

I don’t care.

And oh, by the way, I’ve noticed that sometimes it’s spelled ‘Koran’
and other times ‘Quran.’ Well, Jimmy Crack Corn you guessed it,

I don’t care!!

I for one don’t, in fact I call that justice

I’d say 3 Marauding Captains and 2 Exiled Force
Mystic Swordsman Lv2 (or Sasuki Samuri) might be useful
Your balance seems a little monster-heavy, so you may want a few more spells. I’d suggest enemy controller - it works particularly well with ninja grandmaster sasuke, and book of moon does the same with mystic swordsman. The Warrior Returning Alive is a very useful card for getting a warrior you need out of your grave.
Call of the haunted is limited, so you can only have one in your deck. I’d suggest adding Bottomless trap hole.
You could probably do with trimming down the monsters. I’d probably start with Marauding Captain, Command Knight, D.D. Warrior Lady, Wildheart, Mystic Swordsman, Ninja Grandmaster Sasuke, and maybe Exiled Force, with Freed, Warrior Lady and Giant Rat to get them out, and maybe add some of the others if they seemed helpful. Certainly I’d drop the future samuri (as I recall it’s a Gemini monster, which work best when the deck’s built around them.
I don’t think Marshmallon as needed here, and Threatening Roar or Waboku (or even Nightmare’s Steelcage) might be more useful.
Torrential tribute can be very helpful, and works particularly well with Wildheart. Lightning Vortex can do a similar job.
Unless they’re limited, you really want multiples of key cards, so that you’re more likely to draw them when needed.

Hopefully some of this helps, and of course it’s your deck so you need to be happy with it.

And regarding birdmans’s advice: I presume he means Gilford the lightning and Phoenix Geafried. Don’t add either. Gilford is good, but Lightning Vortex will probably be far more useful most of the time, and Geafried is horrible outside a specialised Gemini deck, since it needs 4 tributes to get it’s effect working.
