Funny how quiet the "both sides are to blame" crowd was for 8 years before Obama took office.
I was the lone voice crying out in the wilderness in those days.
Now that people see what an utter failure Obama is, and that he has actually joined the old guard, SUDDENLY they are bashing the conservatives by saying this is just normal, both sides are to blame so we shouldn’t blame Obama.
Hey, where was this "both sides are to blame" camp while Bush got bashed for 8 years? Nobody was saying "both sides are to blame" back then.
I had to block certain members of this camp because every time I pointed out Obama’s failures, they would flood the answers with more GOP bashing, with "both sides are to blame" tag tacked on.
What IS the solution coming from this camp, other than "both sides are to blame, but the GOP is worse by far so throw them out first."

What do you think of my story idea?
It’s not the most original, and I think it may be a little cliched.
Salinger County is an exclusive, respected part of Pennsylvania. It is also very prejudiced and unaccepting of differences.
Then one day, they get a reality check, one of the loved and accepted Lindbergs die. Callie Lindberg was a seventeen year old who commit suicide before senior year.
Sophie is an outcast in the society, she’d rather debate about the new act being made a law, than to attend social gatherings. Callie’s death intrigues her, and when her best friend Devon Salinger (whose family are blood-blues but she is also an outcast) cofesses to Sophie that she and Callie used to be friends, that Callie confided to Devon that she hated how the society discriminated, Sophie decides to investigate.
After a while Sophie finds out that Callie was close to her godbrother Rudy (who lived with them after his parent’s death), and that Rudy was harassed and bullied by Callie’s older brother, and that Rudy never felt liked he was part of the society because of his Asian background. This deeply upsets Callie and disappoints her that their community is so cruel.
Sophie realises there may be a message behind the tragic suicide of Callie Lindberg…

You’re right about it not being an original idea, but that doesn’t mean you can’t make it interesting.
Don’t make your discrimination theme too heavy-handed. Discrimination is wrong is a really commonly used moral, and if you keep hitting the reader with it they will get annoyed. You have a lot of characters that are discriminated against.
People don’t take nicely to the places they live being attacked. Be careful not to portray an unrealistic negative image of Pennsylvania. I wouldn’t recommend trying it unless you actually live in such a place, or you really do understand what it would be like to.

That’s not really a story it’s just a lot of intrigue. A story has to have a plot which means a protagonist who takes an action based on a set of circumstances. An action which will have consequences for himself and others. You can use what you have but Sophie, I guess who is your protagonist, has to make a decision to act and that action has to have an impact on Callie and Rudy.

well my stepfather is a fisher man in philippines and i want to get him that garmin fishfinder so he wouldnt have hard time finding fish but my husband said it only works here in america…is it true?
The GARMIN will work in any waters. Nationality has absolutely zero to do with the instruments ability to work.
Just be sure his power source is compatible with the GARMIN.

A fish finder works by sonar. Sonar has nothing to do with location on the globe, so yes it will work.

Any Fish-finder will work on any part of the globe as long as your Stepfather has a 12volt battery to plug it into.
Even then, you can get him a "portable fish finder" that works on AA battery’s and can be used on a boat with or without a motor, (such as a canoe or paddle boat).

you can wear an egyptian style belly dance costume, one that has a straight skirt, that is very slimming, or you can also wear an egyptian style dress for bellydancing, or take a look at some websites and get some ideas. Ladies I need your input. Does my waiste look too fat?
I’m a self conciouse guy who has difficulty getting women. i work out just about everyday. I lift and run long distances. I used to be fat and was fat most of my life. I’m 28 now and in the best shape of my life and will never let go again!!!!! But I feel kinda bloated. I fit into a 36. I am 6′4. This morning I weighed in at 221 lbs. I have been drinking alot of tonic and seltzer water during my gym session yesterday which was 2. I eat pretty good. On weekends I tend to endulge a little but not too much. I posted a link to a pic that has me in an under armor shirt to show my waiste at a side angle. Im trying really hard to get six pack going and that is the part thats challenging. My mid section. What do you think?

I’ve heard rumors of a "Logan’s Run" remake. They say they want Leonardo Dicaprio as lead character. How do you think it will turn out?
Oh My, I just answered the question what was the worst movie they could remake now and I said, Logan’s Run….Leo would be great because he can make a movie seem more intense than it is! I think Logan’s Run would be a great remake now because of the advances with special effects and our society’s worshipping of youth. If a great director and Leo are on board then the only thing stopping them from making a blockbuster is marketing. I think it will be a decent movie but, overhyped. Ala The Beach.

With today’s sci-fi whiz-bang studio special effects, the Logan’s Run redux project sounds interesting. Espicially if they can get the original cast to do some cameo appearances.

I wish they would stop re-making old movies and come up with some original ideas - besides - that movie The Island was Logan’s Run-ish - same type of concept I thought - not a total remake for once. All movies now seem to be sequels, remakes or from old TV shows…..sigh.

5 years …but to much on his plate to even expect to be engaged?
OK , ive been with my bf for 5 years im 24 going on 25 he is a year younger then me and we are very happy .. our families on both sides are very good with us being together and get along just fine …the PROBLEM here is that his father has made many mistakes in his marriage and my bf has seemed to be the one taking care of the family … his dad cheated and wasted money on another women and now that he is back on track his parents depend on him because now his dad cant seem to get enough contracts (he does construction on his own) to take care of the morgage … my bf at age 23 has taken it on him self to take care of them while his dad seems to be very irresponsible they almost lost their home like 3 weeks ago… im happy with him and love his family but i want to get engaged and we save up and he always has to give up his share of the money to them … i cant grudge him doing this its his family … but im worried as he is that he will not be able to start his life if this keeps up …also he has 2 little siblings and doesnt want to leave them with out a home because of his dad’s mistakes and irresponsibilities … what can we do ??? and i would love to be engaged by now or at least live together but is this selfish honestly ??? is it wrong for me to feel like im being cheated as well???
oh wow this is a tough one. On the one hand this shows that he is a great guy and will step up to the plate and take of the family but at the same time his father should be taking care of the family so that you and your boyfriend and get married and start a family of your own. I complete understand why this would bother you. I don’t know what I would do in this situation. You need to sit down with him and lay it all on the line. He odviously cant provide for them forever and also start a family with you. There just isn’t enough time or money for all of that. Sit down and talk to him, tell him that you want to get married and start a family with him but his current situation is not working for you. Be nice about it and make sure he understand that you love him and you know he is only trying to help his family. His dad seriously needs to step up and provide for the family.

For as long as you are involved with this man, this will BE your life. His family will forever come first, and you will be 2nd, or 3rd or 4th.
Now, before you do or say anything else, re-read that sentence a few times and just sit with it.

Now that you’ve let it sink in that you’ll never be #1 in his life, isn’t the decision you have to make a little more clear? How about looking it at this way: You wouldn’t pick up a kitten and expect it to bark at you … right? You don’t go fishing, and hope to catch a chicken, do you? Have you ever knocked on a wall and expected someone to answer it? Well. your guy is a puppy who will never meow and purr at you.
Something else that I want you to understand is this: The five years you have spent together aren’t enough IN HIS MIND to get engaged and married with. He will continue to take you for granted forever. You will always be his girlfriend, but you’ll never be his wife. DO NOT MOVE IN, because that won’t change anything. Actually, it will only make things worse. Moving in is the biggest mistake you could make. Your statement that "we save up and he always has to give up his share" makes me VERY concerned. So, what happens after you’re married and have a mortgage of your own and children?? This guy is not marriage material, sweetie.
After 5 years, you’re not selfish in wanting to move forward in your relationship. You are asking a question that has only one answer: What can you do? You can either accept things AS THEY ARE, or you can cut your losses now and move on (which is what I would do).
A big part of maturity is learning what you can live with, what you can change, and when to move on. Right now, you can’t change who he is, and you can’t live like this forever (wanting more out of your relationship with him than he is able to give). Frankly, you ARE being cheated, but you can’t do anything about it.
I’m sure he really is a great guy. He’s just not the guy for you, hon. He won’t be the guy for you until he can willingly and freely commit his life to you and make his marriage to you his #1 priority. That doesn’t look like it’s happening anytime soon.

it sounds like long term he is going to be the head of his mothers family. the economy is not going to give his dad money any time soon. and his dad sounds like he cant handle life and is willing to let his son save the rest of the family which i find shocking. however, that is the choice he has made. it is admirable of him, however, what in the world is his mother doing about all this. if he is making payments he has the right to ask.
after he gets done with this his mother will probably need help,and on it goes. just so you see the reality of it.

How do I pursue a career in IT?
I have an undergrad degree in Healthcare Administration and have work experience in Human Resources, Recruiting, and currently College Education Admissions. I have always loved computers and really enjoy fixing them (minor problems of course…I am no guru). I am about to pursue a Master of Information Systems and Technology degree. I wanted to know which careers in IT are in high demand and how do I get a job when I graduate with no prior IT work experience? I am working FT right now with good pay so leaving for an entry level IT job is not feasible right now. Any advice is appreciated.
