IMDB rating: 5.60

Plot: The director of such off-beat independent films as In the Soup, director Alexandre Rockwell once again teams with that film’s star to deliver this Los Angeles-based comedy concerning superstition and intersecting lives. Things aren’t looking so good for television clown Banana’s (Steve Buscemi) career, and the fact that his estranged wife, Suzi (Jennifer Beals), has just been arrested for assaulting his girlfriend, Lily (Karyn Parsons), just serves to compound Banana’s despair. Teaming with sidekick Binky (Peter Dinklage) to enlist the aid of bail-bondsman Mo (David Proval), Banana and Binky discover that Mo is currently negotiating the release of hip-hop mogul Lenny’s (Daryl Mitchell) wife, Sandra (Rose Rollins). The hapless group soon teams to help Mo by finding a suitable kidney donor for the bail-bondsman’s ailing son, and though they quickly happen across a drunk (Peter Stormare) who fits the bill, the trouble comes in keeping the prospect in the hospital. Doing their best to help Mo’s son under increasingly chaotic circumstances, personal tensions flare as each character desperately tries to simultaneously battle their own inner demons.

Going to New York for my Fall Break with my boyfriend. I want a real experience.?
We want to experience the different cultures, and fun places to hang out in New York. We also want to eat interesting, good, and inexpensive food. Plus I want to visit some hideaway shops and entertainment places. I don’t know anything about NYC, but I know I don’t want to see the empire state building.
Some suggestions please?

You will see the Empire State bldg. Its hard to miss. and the view from the top is actually spectacular/romantic.

Great ethnic/street food everywhere. Just walk around the Village and enjoy kebabs, gyros, pizza, hot dogs etc.

The warehouse club and the warehouse district are places to find entertainment and shopping. Chelsea area has lots of clubs.

Brooklyn Heights is up and coming cool area to eat/shop. Go to Grimaldis for Pizza get it to go and eat it on the pier. And DO NOT miss the Donut Plant on the east side. I forced my reluctant friends to go and I then thought they were going to die eating those donuts with all the moaning…..they are really good and you eat them right in the shop.

Take the staten island ferry past the Statue of Liberty. Its free and a nice ride.

See off-broadway theater. Chill outside the public library.

cathoratio | Oct 06, 2009

I will say make sure you stay somewhere around Time Square. It is so much to do in that area. I stayed at the Crowne Plaza hotel in Time Square and had a view of everything. Make sure you try to get a broadway play while your there they can be a bit pricey but it’s well worth it. There is a place we went to eat at called Dallas BBQ’s( on 42nd Street between 7th & 8th avenues) excellent and cost efficient. They give a good amount of food too. There is also a Dave & Busters, Ripley’s Believe it or Not and AMC movie Theater all on the same street. You can always go to Macy’s on 34th street for shopping ( this is the best macy’s ever) There are so many things to do in the big apple! I hope you have fun!

Astrophysicist vs rocket scientist…?
is astrophysics the same as rocket science??
any websites about either are appreciated :)

Astrophysics is the study of physics in space, stars, black holes etc. And rocket science is the study of rockets, lol like studying technology and improving it, to make space travel more efficient.

JDogg | Nov 12, 2009

no its not. astro doesn’t mean only rockets
quasar | Nov 12, 2009

One is concerned with a vehicle,
the other with the nature of the physical universe.
Guess which is simpler.
Irv S | Nov 12, 2009

There’s no such thing as a rocket scientist. It’s a vague colloquial term that a layperson uses to describe engineers working in the areas of space and flight. The appropriate designation is aerospace engineer, which is distinctly different from astrophysicist.

Taurus duh

Little Miss Sunshine | Nov 15, 2009

Your mc (midhaven) is in taurus, trining your 2nd house cusp. This could make you are hard working when you feel as though you are gaining something. I find this layout not easy to read, but looks as though you have nothing in that house. But that mc also sextiles your 4th house as well. This could create a nice home, liking things that are practical but also with a sense of beauty. You could be organized with your paperwork, or to the opposite extreme, and just have piles of papers. Not uncommon to see a person be divided with work. Example, having a full time job, and part time job, or full time school and part time work.
Mystic | Nov 15, 2009

Hi,

I am going to answer your question as you put it to make it easier for you to understand.

Do you know what your mid heaven means?

The mid heaven is the highest point in a chart, its at the top of the Southern hemisphere. It is what we show the world. The sign on the mid heaven point is how we show show the world our gifts and talents. Now these talents have to do how we WORK in the outside world, no wonder it is associated with the 10th house of the chart. The 10th house is the house of Capricorn and this is all about achievement. This is how we gain our excellence, fulfill our destiny’s, it has nothing to do with our soul purpose (north node) unless it is placed there, but it has every thing to do with aspirations and achievement in the outside, OUTSIDE world.

You have a Taurus Mid heaven at 7 degrees and 36 minutes. Pluto is in the 10th house in scorpio. Depending whether this aspect is applying or separating makes a big difference in how it is read. Looking at what your mid heaven is aspecting, *the other answering individual attempted to give you a mini reading* will tell you if you can achieve outwardly success easily, benefits and outcomes or if you will have any difficulty, but remember this is only if you apply yourself and tap into those energies, mainly TAURUAN energies.

Also, you asked about the ll virgo…. lol.. this means these are the signs on the cusps of the houses, the door ways. the roman numeral ll indicates the house number. You have virgo on the 2nd house cusp of your natal chart.

The same can be done with all the others in your chart. What these signs do in your chart is show you WHAT energy is being used to FLAVOR OR COLOR that houses energetic output. If you have planets with signs in the house that sign on the cusp will flavor THOSE PLANETS AND SIGNS IN THAT HOUSE.

For example, I have Saturn Aries in the 6th house with Taurus on the cusp. I have a tauran energy through the sign on the cusp but inside it operates as Aries w/ a Taurus flavor.

Make sense?

Hope it does.. many blessings to you on your astrological journey.

Moon

I hope this clarified your questions, the answer by the other top contributor below and more!?
Moon Magick H | Nov 15, 2009

The column on the left is the location of your planets, the column on the right is the house cusps. The roman numbers are the house numbers, so you have Leo rising (ascendant) mid heaven Taurus (10th house) 2nd house is Virgo/ 3rd is Libra/4th is Scorpio/ 5th is Sagittarius/ 6th is Capricorn /7th is Aquarius /8th is Pisces /9th is Aries /11th is Gemini /12th is Cancer. Going by the numbers ere is where your planets are: Merc in 3rd/ Sun in Scorpio, Venus conjunct Pluto in Scorpio, and Mars in Sag- all in the 4th house/ Jupiter in Sag in the 5th /Nept conjunct Uranus in Cap in the 6th /Moon in Aqua in the 7th and Saturn in Pisces in the 8th. You will notice that you have empty houses, that’s okay, it means those are not important issues in this chart. You have 4 planets in the 4th house this is a stellium although only two of the planets are conjunct. The emphasis on the fourth house shows that your family and home are very important to you and you spend a lot of your energy there. There were many different influences in your home early in your life. You have Mercury in its traditional home, the 3rd house so your communication is natural and open, you like to talk and mingle with people and exchange ideas with others. Next you should look up the aspects of the planets and study what they mean to your character.

Julius Caesar
Julius Caesar (2002)

IMDB rating: 6.60

Plot: The story of the rise and fall of the Roman Emperor Gaius Julius Caesar, born July 13, 100 B.C., and starting his career as a young Roman with visions of greatness for the Eternal City. When Sulla conquers Rome with his troops, Caesar is one of the very few to stand up against the despotic dictator. This impresses Pompeius, Sulla’s general, and he protects the young man, who is a nephew of Marius, a well known veteran, against the wrath of Sulla. After Sulla’s death, Caesar returns from exile and starts his political career. Caesar’s daughter Julia marries general and senator Pompeius, and Caesar takes Pompeius’ troops in order to simply safeguard the borders to Gaul, but instead conquers the whole country. His final victory takes place at the fortress of Alesia, where the Germanic troops under Vercingetorix capitulate. Back in Rome, Ceasar is not trusted anymore, since the troops are loyal to him alone and it is feared by Pompeius and Cato that he will use the troops to conquer Rome and declare himself King, including the establishing of a inheritbale right to the throne. Instead, Caesar does none of that and sets off to Egypt in order to ensure a constant delivery of agricultural goods to the Roman Empire. After a glorious return to Rome, his former friends Pompeius and Cato are dead, their deaths blamed on Caesar, and his personal life is in ruins since he could not resist the temptation of beautiful Egyptian empress Cleopatra. Being inveigled and aided by a group of rebellious and untrusting senators around Cassius, his nephew Brutus finally kills Julius Caesar at March 15, 44. B.C. (the Ides of March) at the age of 55, starting an era of civil wars.

Opinions on these quotes from a U.S. senator from Mississippi in 1947?
Now first of all these aren’t my words so don’t report this as if I’m saying it.
By Roger Roots

"If our buildings, our highways, and our railroads should be wrecked, we could rebuild them. If our cities should be destroyed, out of the very ruins we could erect newer and greater ones. Even if our armed might should be crushed, we could rear sons who would redeem our power. But if the blood of our White race should become corrupted and mingled with the blood of Africa, then the present greatness of the United States of America would be destroyed and all hope for civilization would be as impossible for a Negroid America as would be redemption and restoration of the Whiteman’s blood which had been mixed with that of the Negro."
(Senator Theodore G. Bilbo, of Mississippi in 1947)

FACT #1: The White race has crossed seas, harnessed rivers, carved mountains, tamed deserts, and colonized the most barren icefields. It has been responsible for the invention of the printing press, cement, the harnessing of electricity, flight, rocketry, astronomy, the telescope, space travel, firearms, the transistor, radio, television, the telephone, the light bulb, photography, motion pictures, the phonograph, the electric battery, the automobile, the steam engine, railroad transportation, the microscope, computers, and millions of other technological miracles. It has discovered countless medical advances, incredible applications, scientific progress, etc. Its members have included such greats as Socrates, Aristotle, Plato, Homer, Tacitus, Julius Caesar, Napoleon, William the Conqueror, Marco Polo, Washington, Jefferson, Hitler, Bach, Beethoven, Mozart, Magellan, Columbus, Cabot, Edison, Graham Bell, Pasteur, Leeuwenhoek, Mendel, Darwin, Newton, Galileo, Watt, Ford, Luther, De Vinci, Poe, Tennyson, and thousands upon thousands of other notable achievers.

FACT #2: Throughout 6,000 years of recorded history, the Black African Negro has invented nothing. Not a written language, weaved cloth, a calendar, a plow, a road, a bridge, a railway, a ship, a system of measurement, or even the wheel. He is not known to have ever cultivated a single crop or domesticated a single animal for his own use (although many powerful and docile beasts abounded around him.) His only known means of transporting goods was on the top of his hard burry head. For shelter he never progressed beyond the common mud hut, the construction of which a beaver or muskrat is capable.
FACT #3: The I.Q.

Is there a link between the Mothman prophecies and Chupacabras?
I have noticed that witnesses claim that their animals were found with their blood drained.

I have never heard about any connection.

| Nov 05, 2009

Not at all. Mothman prophecies is fiction and the Chupacabras turned out to be a mangy, inbred coyote with an affinity for lapping up blood after wounding its prey severely enough that it bled out.

H
H | Nov 05, 2009

both are real, the only connection i could think of is the x~files….
many owls | Nov 05, 2009

The blood draining thing in animals is chupacabras, mainly this has happened in Cuba.
Mothman is totally different. Mothman happens anywhere all over the planet and they are linked to many known catastrophies that have no explanation for. It ir unclear whether the mothman are responsible or they are the ones that warn people of the impending dangers.
The only mystery in the cattle mutilation is the suspect. The Chupacabra hasn’t been caught yet, so that’s why there’s a mystery.
I don’t think there’s a link. People have seen the chupacabra and people (mainly the ones who are dying) have seen mothman. They look nothing alike.
The only link is that they are both mysteries and they’re unexplained. It’s like trying to find a link between Big Foot and Nessy.

What is a straight 6ft Madagascar palm?
I have a straight 6ft. Madagascar palm, we don’t want it any more, to sharp….. How much are they worth?

Retailers can usually get $350 to $500 for one that size.

That doesn’t mean you’ll get that price. It will only be worth the amount that someone is willing to pay you. Since you’re not a nursery, I doubt anyone would be willing to pay you the same that it costs at a store.

You might start by putting an ad on craigslist and seeing if anyone is interested.
Cat | Nov 22, 2009

I don’t believe anyone can give you a "true price" without seeing a picture first.

These palms are in "High Demand"

I would get a nice photo and take it down to a high-end nursery. They might be most interested in buying it or doing a trade with you.

Just in case… you don’t know all parts of the plant is poisonous if ingested.

There is money to be made if you want to save the seeds and sell them.
You might want to check on line because I do know there is a waiting
list for seeds. My best friend has a nursery.

In case you would like to do this.. this is what you would need to do.
Bag seed heads to capture riping seed.
Allow pod to dry on plant
Gently open to collect the seed
allow seeds heads to dry on plant
remove and collect

Seeds do not store well so if you do want to sell them or
then sow as soon as possible.

You could also get in touch with a garden club or your
local arboretum

I’m sure there is a Madagascar Palm Society you could
get in touch with.

Since these are a pretty much care free plant you might want
to hang onto it and get the best price?

according to the 19th century novel, oliver twistby charles dickens my first impression of the workhouses in 1800 are that they are strict and conceal the life of a child into a small compact shell. overall, the workhouses were very harsh which made the children to starve for a normal life, something diffrent, a little bit more. which is what every child longed for, especially oliver twist.
